Often called “the backbone of the electronics industry”, the Gerber file format is the bare board industry's CAD-to-CAM data transfer standard. In keeping with the format's importance in the industry, its long-standing custodian and developer, Ucamco, has recently overhauled the specification document, making it clearer than ever. By investing considerable time, money and effort in the ongoing improvement of the Gerber File Format, and with no financial return to itself, Ucamco continues to provide the PCB industry with one of its most crucial tools, free of charge. Ucamco calls on the design community to play their role, and review their implementations of the format in light of this revision.

Software. We all love it, need it and use it. But how many of us really know all there is to know about the software tools we use? The answer, if we are honest, is that few of us believe we can justify dedicating time to fully learning the technology we have. The result? We rarely use it to its maximum potential.

That's why Ucamco and Fineline Technologie GmbH have created the Ucamco Club Seminar, an unmissable annual event for the Germany's PCB industry. Here, in a relaxed yet dynamic environment, CAM engineers talk directly with Ucamco's specialists and tap into a wealth of industry expertise to discover how to get the most out of their current tools. And as if this were not enough, the Club Seminar is also a great venue at which engineers can hear straight from the horse's mouth about exciting new technologies that are on the way, and how these can be used to revolutionise CAM and the business of making PCBs
